Pisa is a small town with a population of no more than 100,000 situated in the north of Italy. Pisa is famous chiefly for its leaning tower; however, there are a few other tourist attractions in Pisa worthy of a visit. Pisa has a long history and served as a strategic naval base during Roman times.

Pisa rose to occupy the apex in military and economic fronts during the 12th century when it was considered as a chief maritime force and trading city as a result of which the major part of its architecture could be dated back to the 12th century. We have described a few of the tourist spots in Pisa below.

It is the Leaning Tower that is most renowned not only in Pisa but the whole of Italy. It has attained fame because of its deformity. Nevertheless it wins over hundreds from all around the world who enjoy taking pictures of the Leaning Tower.

Entry is controlled inside the tower at all times for fear of safety, even though it is possible to gain entry into the tower by spending 15 Euros. It is better to book your place in advance since there is a limit for the number of people to be allowed into the Tower on a daily basis.

The baptistery in Pisa is the place where people from the medieval Pisa get baptised into the Christian religion. This was constructed in the 12th century though the completion took place after 200 years.

Romanesque and Gothic styles can be seen in the architecture of this baptistery. A pool-like shape carved out in the middle of the building can be seen inside the baptistery into which water would have been poured and people would have submerged as part of the baptism process.

The Cathedral in Pisa is an excellent example of Romanesque architecture that is so typical of the Tuscany region of Italy.

It was in the 11th century that this building was constructed with the grandiose interior held firm by 68 columns. The main wonder of this Cathedral are the green and white marble interiors. One has to pay an admission fee of 2 Euros to visit this Cathedral.

For those wanting to do some sightseeing in Pisa at a more comfortable pace, there are boat tours available that travel down the River Arno from which most of Pisa’s sights can be seen. Tickets cost about 5.

If you have an interest in art from the renaissance then be sure to read our guide on things to do in Florence.

My life in Costa Rica has been an outstanding experience with a variety of adventures and events. I have photographed a number of beautiful and incredible sights and this is just one very small example of how close I live to it all.

[I:http://cheaptravelblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/FrankScott4.jpg]

We all know that there are leaf cutter ants in the jungle and they are responsible to bring leaves to their nest. Listen to this story of the strength, persistence, and dedication to duty of one ant.

In his travels across my driveway, in front of my most beloved flowering tree that he and his friends were devastating, a leaf cutter ant we will name Bill picked up a matchstick, you know, one of the wooden ones. This brave soul dropped its leaf and started to carry the match upright as if it were a leaf. Very impressive!

I carefully picked up the matchstick thinking that I would lessen the load. And incredible as it might seem, Bill did not let go and was picked up along with the match, his little feet still trying to march away.

I carried Bill and the match to the terrace of my house, all this time just holding the match. When placed on the terrace Bill just kept on marching to the beat of his own drum going around the chair legs however remaining on the terrace.

Without hesitation he marched around and around like a soldier carrying his flag. As a photographer I watched and photographed in amazement for over an hour and could not help but wonder when he would drop the match and go on his merry way as he must have been panting by now, not that you can see an ant pant, believe me!

Now I realize their stamina and persistence when they march like an army carrying their leaves back to their nest. As Bill became very tired I eventually was able to take away the matchstick and he was freed from his load to go back to, what else, carrying leaves.

Life is hard for all of us but are you willing and ready to drop a small item to carry one that is monumental? Bill the ant did. What a creature!

Who among us would drop a light load to carry a very heavy one for our team? Think about it and what we can learn from this wonderful creature that we often take for granted.

As the capital city of England, it is hardly surprising that there is much to see, do and experience in London. With millions of residents packed into this vibrant cultural melting pot, London is always bustling with activity, regardless of the day of the week or the month. You should make a list of sights to take in, as otherwise you might end up missing out on one of London’s highlights.

There is so much on offer in this vibrant city that you probably will not have time to take in everything; fortunately though, a lot of the most popular sights are located quite near to each other. The Tower of London, the Houses Of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey are all not to be missed. You can take guided tours of each of these, so you can learn about their colorful histories, which will give you an even better appreciation of what stands before you.

The House of Commons and the House of Lords are pretty impressive in themselves, but more popular among visitors is the landmark’s clock tower. Locals sometimes call it St. Stephens Tower just to make a point. Everyone else affectionately calls it Big Ben. It has four 23-foot faces that light up at night. The minute hands alone are 14 feet long. It is not open for public tours, but standing back far enough to see it is a rewarding view.

There are lots of palaces and historic buildings to visit. The Queen of England lives in the most famous of all them, which is called Buckingham Palace. Outside of Buckingham Palace you will see the famous guards clad in their red and black uniforms. You can take your picture with them, and even watch them run through some drills, which is a truly memorable sight to behold .

Depending on the time of year, catch a sporting event. London has some of best stadiums in the whole world, and five Premier League football (or soccer if you prefer) teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea, who have genuine football superstars in their teams. As well as football, you can take in a game of cricket or football. Attending a tennis match at Wimbledon is also an option if you happen to be in London during June or July.

As a final point, remember to pack your camera and take lots of photos!

Australia is one of, if not the most desirable place to live in the entire world and has so many different places where most people would be happy to set up base. One of these such places is the state of Queensland which offers so much for families who want to move there. But why is Queensland Australia such a desirable place to live?

Well, you only have to check out a few pictures of the state on the internet to realise what the attractions is. Miles of pristine beaches, thousands of beautiful islands spotted around off the coast and wonderful rainforests all combine to make the natural landscape of the state one of the most beautiful in the world.

With incredible rainforests, beautiful tropical islands such as the Whitsundays, the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island and an incredible array of awesome pristine beaches there is enough natural beauty to hand around a dozen countries. These amazing sites offer so much variety and offer so many different activities to go with them.

Of course all of this natural wonder would be a little pointless if it was always raining. Thankfully however, Queensland is known as the Sunshine State and there is lovely warm and sunny weather more or less all year round. This great weather allows you to get outside and get involved with all of the great outdoor activities associated with the country.

The lifestyle in the state is pretty much tailor made for the young, with hip cities and towns lining the coast and a chilled out and laid back atmosphere all around. Places like Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise are exactly how they sound are are extremely popular places for travellers and young people from all over the world.

These are just some great draws of this great state.

Learn how much fun you can have on a fabulous vacation when you make your Noosa Holiday accommodation today! Create unforgettable memories with Noosa Holiday Accommodation now!

Do you want to do something special for your next company picnic? Would you like to show your client list how much you really care? Do you want to give that fifty-year employee a send off he or she will never forget? Consider an up and coming idea that more companies are utilizing, corporate boat cruises.

Corporate boat cruises are plentiful and very easy to find. Use any search engine and there are dozens of them at your fingertips. Don’t forget to type your city and state at the end of the search text. This will narrow the search a bit to include only those in your immediate area.

Corporations that normally utilize in-house facilities or hotel suites and conference rooms are now joining the cause. The main reason is that small cruise lines can now compete with hotel rates and in many ways, offer greater value. The amenities a cruise ship or yacht can offer are in most cases vastly superior to that of a hotel.

Reasons corporations book hotels or cruises vary from company to company. Whether your corporation is networking, making a presentation to clients, conducting training or brainstorming meetings, or enjoying some good old fashioned camaraderie and corporate/workforce bonding, corporate boat cruises have the facilities you need. Based on my research, they have a package for just about every type of corporate function. All of the packages are completely flexible and you can even create a package of your own.

Many cruise companies have a small fleet ranging in sizes so that they have a craft ready for any sized occasion. They usually start at 100 feet and get larger. Two or three cruise ships are the norm for most companies. Most of these ships have state-of-the-art equipment installed including radio, television, and global positioning equipment. Interior designs in many cruise ships are as elegant as most modern hotels. These ships have two full bathrooms to accommodate its minimum capacity.

The cost of a small cruise ship compared to hotel facilities is close. The cruise ship is a few hundred dollars more but many of the extras that you would pay a hotel are included in the cruise package making it the better value. Just like hotels, pricing ranges from cruise company to cruise company. On average, $1.000 to $4.000 is about standard depending on the length of the cruise and the entertainment or dining package included.

Every corporate cruise company has a dedicated sales force that is ready to work with you in planning your company’s cruise. They are extremely knowledgeable with most corporation’s meeting and presentation needs and have the packages that fit almost any occasion. Most modern cruise ships are loaded with exactly the kind of equipment and technology needed for corporate business. Much of the time, the only things a company needs to supply are the bodies.

After reviewing dozens of cruise ship lines that specialize in small and medium corporate boat cruises, I realized that it would be very difficult to pick one and the process would be a long one. It would be a great idea to have most of your information together before you speak to an event manager. Knowing beforehand, exactly what you want and how many people will be involved will save a ton of valuable time and greatly improve the initial options offered.

If visiting the Toronto Harbour inspires your adventurous and fun loving side, then Toronto cruises are perfect for you! Tourists and vacationers can find plenty of excitement aboard Halloween cruises.

Normally Vietnam is not a place that you would think of taking a vacation. Other than some vague memories of the war, very little is known about this country. Vietnam is a beautiful place with many things to offer world travelers. These are some things you can expect from adventure Vietnam Holidays.

Kite surfing is an activity that has become popular in recent years. Mui Ne is known for its steady winds, low amount of rainfall, beautiful beach, great accommodations and fabulous nightlife. Besides being the perfect spot for advanced kite surfers, courses are offered for beginners and intermediates.

On a cultural tour, you will spend 14 days exploring most of Vietnam’s well known attractions by taking national flights between points of interest. Take a speedboat down the Saigon River and enjoy a Hoi An sunset cruise. You’ll visit the incredible tunnel system at Cu Chi that was used by the communist guerrillas during the war.

Take an 18 day adventure tour that will allow you to see Vietnam as it really is. Bicycle through the city of Hanoi, cruise and paddle in the Halong Bay and spend the night aboard the boat. Hike in the Bach Ma National Park and enjoy overnight camping. Another boat ride down the Mekong River will take you to the Mekong Delta where you can bicycle through its fruit laden valleys.

The Luxury Tour is perfect for a couple that wants to enjoy the upper end of tourism in Vietnam. It starts out in the enchanting city of Saigon and heads into the countryside to the north. Then it’s a flight south to a luxury resort on an isolated peninsula or an island just off the coast of Vietnam for an entire week of relaxation and pampering.

The possibilities of adventure holidays to Vietnam are limitless. Many of the tour companies allow you to put together your own adventure holiday so you can visit the places you want to see. Whichever tour you decide to take, you will thoroughly enjoy your time in Vietnam.

Before to travel to Vietnam make sure to stop by Jose Mauricio Maurette’s website (tailor made holidays) to find out more about Vietnam holidays

Many people find Toronto, Ontario’s capital, to be a really ideal city. Though it has the highest population of any city in Canada, you would never know it. It is quietly influential and is a leading world city. It is the commerce capital of Canada, despite its sleepy facade. The city leads most others in their scholastic advancement and their technological production. These are the industries in which Toronto leads commerce.

The reason why this city functions so well and so quietly is because it is a happy city. It is very diverse and has a liberal, understanding mindset. The crime rates are some of the lowest around, while the cleanliness rates are among the highest. It is Eco-conscious and has been listed on several different counts as the world’s best city.

Moving there would be a dream for some, but not if you are a person who dislikes the winter and longs for the extremely urban. The city still has some country roots and the population is not tightly packed. There are plenty of recreational trails, beaches, and parks. Keep in mind that the city is on the banks of two rivers, so there is a healthy interest in the environment.

There are plenty of famous buildings there–famous on their own and famous together because the building tend not to mesh. That is not to say they are eyesores, but rather than Toronto has buildings from all styles and ages. Whereas a city like Bruges focuses on one period in time, Toronto has very different things like the CN Tower, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Distillery District. You could not find three site more different.

The city has plenty of districts, too, which is nice for travelers to help them find their way to different attractions. The industrial areas are great and definitely deserve a look. The beach and port areas by the water are lovely, especially in summer, and the fashion areas provide a lot of shopping.

It has beautiful parks and beaches. One such place, called “Cloud Gardens, ” is a very small, almost hidden park that has an observatory. In fact, it is semi-enclosed, making it a rare find for those who know what it is.

The culture is strong in Toronto. You would be amazed to know what a leading city it is in terms of the film industry. There are film festivals all the time, many leading actors (like Mike Meyers) hail from Toronto, it has great acting schools and a wonderful Shakespeare company. It ballet company is one of the best in the world, too.

It is no secret that Toronto is a huge sports capital, more so than perhaps any American city. The reason for it is this: they have five sports teams, each huge in their own areas. They have hockey, for which Toronto is most famous. They also have baseball, football, soccer, and basketball. The Toronto Maple Leafs, the hockey team, make up for a huge proportion of the commerce and tourism there and are a truly talented team.

There is a lot that goes on in the City of Toronto, and a Toronto association has a lot to offer. There are also many contractors Toronto to assist you with any projects that you have.

Lying only a couple of hours south of Florida is popular Costa Rica. Discovered and named by Christopher Columbus over 500 years ago, it has been discovered anew by Americans, Canadians and, increasingly, Europeans and is the place where many choose to take vacations. Though it is one of the planet’s smaller countries, its many places to go and things to see and do are world-famous: nearly 800 miles of pristine coastlines on both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans; parks and reserves covering 25 percent of its land area; and a staggering diversity of plants and animals. One of every five kinds of animals on earth call this place home.

Like volcanoes? There is majestic Arenal, still active, where visitors to its numerous hot springs can enjoy tropical drinks in their bathing suits and be enraptured from its lava shows at night. Or Irazu Volcano where, when the weather is clear, the Caribbean and Pacific oceans can be seen at the same time! There is also terrific fishing, some of the greatest surfing anywhere, whitewater or family rafting adventures, ziplining high in the tropical forests, and, of course, adult nightlife. For lots of people, this is party country.

You will find a vacation that fits the wallet of almost everyone. For those favoring luxury, there are places like the Papagayo Four Seasons and Los Suenos Resorts. But, if these are a bit pricey unless you win the lottery or if you prefer more rustic accommodations, you can see Costa Rica quite nicely on a more restrained budget.

1. Save twenty percent or more on hotels and resorts: Observe travel seasons

a. Avoid Peak Season. December 10-January 10 and Easter Week are Peak Season not only for overseas visitors but for Ticos and Ticas, too. Costa Rica schools are out, many governmental agencies and private businesses close, and thousands of local families flock to the most popular beaches. They will get the best bargains; you will pay the highest premium prices.

b. After Christmas comes High Season which equates with winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Many vacationers travel Costa Rica between January to the end of April because of the sunny tropical weather, a fact not lost on hotels and resorts. If you are a Snowbird, expect to be plucked a bit more during High Season, just like you would in sunny Florida.

c. The prudent bargain travel seeker will take pains to vacation in Costa Rica during the Green (Low) Season because the very best travel and accommodation bargains are found then. Unfortunately, some travelers mistakenly assume that it rains every day when, indeed, most days are sunny and warm. Typically showers last an hour or so and occur in the afternoon or early evening. Many college students and families from the northern countries visit between June and mid-August but prices are good and accommodations available in most places. For the inveterate bargain hunter come between September through mid-November. Savings of 20-35 percent off High Season prices often await.

2. If you plan to rent a car, think ahead and save $25 a day

A lot of tourists rent a car online before their trip and are angered to learn when they arrive that the rental agency plans to charge an additional fee of $25 or more per day for liability insurance! Experienced travelers never pay that money because it is unnecessary, provided three rules are followed. Rule 1: If your home vehicle policy provides liability coverage, that insurance is good in Costa Rica. Recommendation: bring a copy of the policy along with the email, facsimile and telephone numbers of your insurance agent and save that money for your vacation. Rule 2: Many credit cards offer a little known benefit: liability insurance coverage for rentals when the card is used. Contact your credit card company before you travel for best results. Rule 3: Be polite but informed. If you don’t have the insurance info the first day, have your agent fax your coverage as quickly as possible. After all, it is your money. Budget travel can be fun, particularly when you do not pay for unnecessary insurance that you already have.

3. Save another 5 percent or more: Remember that Cash Is King

A lot of stores encourage cash over credit cards and if you inquire if there is a discount for cash will offer 5 percent and sometimes much more. Ask “Que (pronounced “K”) es discuento por efectivo?” which means “What is the discount for cash?” Be sure the bills are new and not defaced with even a tiny tear. Many restaurants, merchants, and hostels cannot break a $100 bill so bring smaller denominations.

4. Pay attention to your restaurant bill and perhaps save 10 percent

Many dining rooms, particularly those serving foreign travelers, automatically include a 10 percent tip (called “servicio”) on a bill. They are required by law to note that charge on the menu but few bars or restaurants do so and are rewarded by unsuspecting foreigners who leave a second tip. It is up to you, the budget travel patron, to pay attention to your bill. If you are in doubt, ask if the tip (”servicio”) is already included on the bill. Over the course of a vacation, this little tip can save you serious money.

If you love the look of white lights wrapped around palm trees and poinsettia plants in full bloom then you will love the look of San Diego at Christmastime.

If you love the look of white lights wrapped around palm trees and poinsettia plants in full bloom then you will love the look of San Diego at Christmastime. San Diego hotel rooms can be found at great rates and it is not too late to book today to experience Christmas in this beautiful city.

No matter what part of town you decide to stay in San Diego is full of life. That is what makes staying here so fun. And not matter where you stay you can easily travel to another part of San Diego by taking the trolley or renting a car and find your own experiences. There is even the trolley that can take you to Mexico for the day if you choose to.

If a beach experience is what you are craving there are several options. You could stay on Coronado and soak up the beaches there and maybe even surf with Santa. Or you could go to Shelter Island or Point Loma for an ocean experience. You could even go a little north to beautiful La Jolla with their beautiful views and rocky beaches.

Crave the holiday city life of shopping and fine dining then choose a hotel in the heart of San Diego. You will find many shopping opportunities and a huge outdoor mall lit in beautiful lights with Christmas music playing all around you. After a day of shopping you can walk to many of the local restaurants or take in a show. Or perhaps listen to some good jazz in the gas lamp district.

Other attractions are close by anywhere you stay in San Diego. There is the world famous zoo and many museums in Balboa Park. They have Holidays on the Prado which has countries around the world showing how they celebrate Christmas. It’s a fun experience to go down to the gas lamp district. There is always something musically going on for any musical taste.

If you want to have a great experience with your children consider driving up about 45 minutes to Carlsbad to take in Legoland and the Aquarium. They are connected and for one ticket you can spend a day exploring the world of Lego. It is fun with rides and experiences for all ages. If you don’t want to drive you can always take the train up the coast easily.

A great experience as well is Old Town. It is decorated for the holidays with street of fair type markets. You can see the historic Old Town and see the roots of how San Diego started. Watch taffy being made and get a margarita as big as your head. There is something for everyone at Old Town.

Booking San Diego hotel rooms this holiday season can be a fun escape with your family or friends and a fun place to spend the holiday season. You will have a lot of fun stuff to do and never run out of great places to dine. Surf or shop the choice is yours.

Josh Krundle is an expert author, When you’re planning a trip and you need to find San Diego hotel rooms, it’s helpful to know exactly how to find San Diego hotel rates that give the deepest discounts compared to all of the other sites.
