A summer visit to Park City Utah offers a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. Beautiful weather and an abundance of activities ensure that visitors of all ages are satisfied and entertained. Whether you are a seasoned outdoorsman or you enjoy the food and wine scene, a summer stay in Park City is the perfect vacation for you.

Upon arrival in Park City, it`s hard to ignore the beautiful sunshine and eighty degree weather. At 7,000 feet, the town resides at the ideal altitude, and is well known for endless days of comfortable weather perfect for the pursuit of outdoor activities. With minimal precipitation and a cool breeze, it is difficult to imagine a better place to spend a few days (or a few weeks) during the summer season.

Begin your exploration of Park City by checking out the activities offered by the three local resorts in town. Park City Mountain Resort will keep the whole family entertained with horseback rides, alpine coaster, alpine slide, and a miniature golf course. Keep the kids busy at the Olympic Park, where they can ride the zip line or bobsled. If you still have time, try a lift-served hike at The Canyons or Deer Valley Resort.

Park City boasts some of the most well known hiking and biking trails in the western U.S.. The 3 resorts in town provide lift-served hiking to incredible scenery and wildlife, while the rail trail and various other paved roads serve up easier terrain for the less-experienced biker. Strap on some shoes and test out one of the many great trails in town.

One of the most attractive aspects of spending a vacation in Park City is the abundance of golf courses in town and the neighboring areas. Park City offers 13 courses for all ability levels and budgets. Walk nine holes at Park City Municipal or schedule a full round of eighteen at the Homestead. The crisp mountain air and beautiful views are sure to make your Park City golf outing the most memorable on record.

A variety of festivals offer locals and vacationers a chance to experience the arts and cuisine of Utah while in town. In early August, the Kimball Arts Festival combines artists and musicians for a three-day weekend of commerce and entertainment. Additionally, the Food and Wine Classic showcases the work of local restaurants and wineries by offering some of the best food and drink around.

Regardless of the timing of your visit, there is certain to be a free concert for you and your loved ones to attend. Deer Valley hosts a Community Concert Series every Wednesday from June through August, while The Canyons features free weekly concerts on Saturday evenings. Grab a blanket and sip a cold drink while enjoying the sights and sounds of a beautiful Park City evening.

Park City is the perfect vacation destination for a variety of reasons. The awesome weather, adventurous outdoors scene, and combination of entertainment and restaurant opportunities provide everything you are looking for in a summer trip. Bring your family or friends to Park City and you will leave satisfied and refreshed.

On January 31, 2000, the historic Mapes Hotel in Reno was imploded by 75 pounds of explosives tucked into the art-deco structures support columns. The destruction of the Mapes put an end to years of efforts to preserve the building via lawsuits, redevelopment proposals, and grass roots action. The National Trust for Historic Preservation took up the cause of the Mapes, and challenged the destruction in a suit that eventually reached the Nevada Supreme Court.

While the logic and necessity of demolishing the Mapes is very questionable, one thing that is certain is that the hotel was an important part of Northern Nevada history. The opening of the Mapes in’47 ushered in a new era in casino gambling, and changed the economy and way of life in Nevada forever. The Mapes was actually the first property in the country to combine a hotel, casino and live entertainment under the same roof. It also became the hotel of choice for celebrities staying in Northern Nevada. Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe stayed at The Mapes during the filming of ‘The Misfits’. Joseph McCarthy, America’s famed anti-Communist crusader, admitted to a reporter over cocktails in the Mapes Lounge that he really didn’t have a list of Communists in the US despite his frequent and vitriolic insistence to the contrary.

In the 50s and 60s it became, along with Lake Tahoes Cal-Neva Lodge the place to be seen in Northern Nevada. The top floor, window-walled Sky Room showcased performances by the legends: Sinatra, Louis Prima, Mae West, Milton Berle, Sammy Davis, Jr., and the Marx Brothers among others. Subsequent years were not kind to downtown Reno but the Mapes prospered during the 60’s and 70’s. The hotel finally closed in’82, due more to financial difficulties experienced by the Mapes family caused by one of their other Northern Nevada gaming properties than anything else.

While the last twenty years brought an amazing boom in the population and economy of Southern Nevada, the Northern part of the state didn’t see much of it at all. For that reason, the urgency of destroying the Mapes is even more questionable. In the Las Vegas area, its easy to justify the demolition of older hotels with simple economics–the older properties simply can’t compete in the current mega-resort dominated marketplace. Furthermore, the insane valuation of the land on which they sit makes it financially unfeasible to preserve them as pop culture museums.

That’s not the case in Reno, where vacant land and/or buildings ripe for redevelopment are abundant downtown and in the other casino areas of the city. The official reason that the Mapes had to come down was that the city needed the land to expand its vision for downtown redevelopment. While this is certainly a much needed effort, to suggest that the existence of the Mapes was a barrier is absurd. In fact, many of the proposals rejected by the city would have gone a long way to enhance the revitalization of downtown Reno and included artists lofts, office space and other mixed used properties. Despite receiving a number of viable concepts for the Mapes Building, the City Redevelopment Authority rejected all of them and the Mapes was destined for demolition.

The role of the City Redevelopment Authority was questioned throughout the process. Overlooking the Truckee River, the hotel was on a prime location between the downtown casino area and the riverfront district. A number of sound financial proposals were presented that would preserve the integrity of the structure including condominiums, office space, and perhaps most viable, upscale senior apartments. Oddly, all of these proposals were turned down by the citys Redevelopment Agency which continued to maintain that demolition was the only viable option despite copious evidence to the contrary.

After the demolition of The Mapes Hotel, the lot remained vacant for almost a year until a temporary ice skating rink was constructed in the winter of 2001. The site now houses a permanent ice skating rink which, while not a bad use for the land, brings into question the insistence by the City Redevelopment Agency that none of the proposals to preserve the building were viable. Clearly, they had no specific plan or even general idea of what to do with the land but for some reason wanted to see the hotel come down. This has led to all manner of speculation, ranging from financial self interest to a rumor that the structure was ‘haunted’ and needed to be destroyed to forestall future paranormal activity in Washoe County. Whatever the reason, the city of Reno lost a valuable landmark of a more civilized era.

Brisbane is Queenslands capital and a fabulous place to visit. But what to do when you get there? Here's some suggestions:

Brisbane is Queenslands capital and a fabulous place to visit. But what to do when you get there? Here’s some suggestions:

Sightseeing bus tour The best way to find your bearings in any new city is to do a “City Sights” tour. Brisbane has a “City Sights” tour which operates in the day time. There is also a Brisbane Lights Tour which showcases the spectacular night lights of Brisbane.

Stay at a boutique hotel in Brisbane

While Brisbane does not have a massive amount of heritage buildings, a few of them have been beautifully restored as boutique hotels. These typically have modern amenities and luxury facilities. Boutique hotels have more space than other hotel rooms with a special ambiance not found at other Brisbane hotels. Situated in the heart of the city, the heritage listed Royal Albert Hotel is one of the best located of the boutique hotels in Brisbane.

Steak-out at the Brekky Creek Hotel The Brekky Creek Hotel (officially the Breakfast Creek Hotel) is about 15 minutes from the heart of the city by car. If you want the best char grilled steak in Brisbane, the Brekky Creek Hotel is the place to go! Choose your own steak from the array in the window, and sit in the Spanish beer garden while the chefs go to work. The trimmings, which haven’t changed for 40 years, include salad, bread roll and a jacket potato, but they like to leave enough room for your steak!

Australia Zoo

Just one hour from the heart of Brisbane Australia Zoo is more than a zoo. It is home to many communities of crocodiles, koalas, tigers, leopards, snakes, and elephants. Become a Wildlife Warrior by hand feeding the elephants. Watch the Crocoseum shows where you may see Terri, Bindi and Bob feed the crocodiles.

Lone Pine A great way to see Brisbane is to catch a boat from the city centre along the majestic Brisbane River to Lone Pine.

From echidnas to emus, wombats to wild lorikeets, kangaroos to koalas, Lone Pine is one of Australia’s oldest and best known animal sanctuaries. After spending a few hours cuddling a koala and hand feeding the kangaroos, you can return to the city by boat or bus.

Wheel of Brisbane Erected in 2008, the Wheel of Brisbane has become a land mark for Brisbane. Sit in air conditioned comfort with views around Brisbane as the world rotates below.

Bridges Brisbane has two relatively new bridges. The Goodwill Bridge connects the Botanical Gardens and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to Southbank. This bridge was named after the Goodwill Games hosted by Brisbane in 2001.

The Kurilpa Bridge opened in 2009 and links Roma Street Parkland to QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre), the Queensland Art Gallery and GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art). Kurilpa is the Aboriginal word for West End and means “the place for water rats”.

Both bridges have a reasonable amount of shade and are architecturally significant in their own right. It is a matter of time before the Kurilpa Bridge is nicknamed the Spiderweb.

Southbank – Botanical Gardens – Roma Street Parkland

Starting in Albert Street, walk down to the Botanical Gardens in Alice Street and explore the lakes and forests, or walk along the river through the mangroves. Walk up the hill through QUT and across the Goodwill Bridge as you admire the Brisbane River and city skyline. At Southbank you can walk through the 17 hectares of sub-tropical landscaped gardens and rainforest, swim in the city beach while enjoying the stunning CBD and river views. Walk along the Southbank Arbour, a spectacular steel framed structure constructed to support the bougainvillea vines which provide continuous shade. After crossing the Kurilpa Bridge, you will find the lush Roma Street Parkland. Roma Street Parkland is an oasis in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, set over 16 hectares of green space and is the largest urban subtropical garden in the world. The Forest and Fern Gully offers the chance to explore a subtropical misty rainforest in the centre of Brisbane!

Exploring the river An easy way to explore the Brisbane River is by City Cat. Explore the university grounds at St Lucia, stop off for a XXXX (beer) at the historic Regatta Hotel (where you can smell the hops from the XXXX brewery), and stroll through the Sunday markets at Riverside. Other good stop offs especially for lunch include Bretts Wharf and Bulimba.

Cycle along the river There is an extensive network of shared cycle and pedestrian paths along both sides of the Brisbane River and elsewhere. This is a great way to see the city skyline and river, and healthy as well! Valet Cycle Hire will drop off your bikes to your Brisbane Boutique Hotel with suggested bike tours. The Brisbane City Council plan to have 150 bike parking stations across the city where bikes can be picked up and dropped off at little or no cost.

There’s a variety of boutique hotels in Brisbane. For a list of boutique hotels in Brisbane , visit hotelsinbrisbane.com.au

If you love the look of white lights wrapped around palm trees and poinsettia plants in full bloom then you will love the look of San Diego at Christmastime. San Diego hotel rooms can be found at great rates and it is not too late to book today to experience Christmas in this beautiful city.

No matter what part of town you decide to stay in San Diego is full of life. That is what makes staying here so fun. And not matter where you stay you can easily travel to another part of San Diego by taking the trolley or renting a car and find your own experiences. There is even the trolley that can take you to Mexico for the day if you choose to.

If a beach experience is what you are craving there are several options. You could stay on Coronado and soak up the beaches there and maybe even surf with Santa. Or you could go to Shelter Island or Point Loma for an ocean experience. You could even go a little north to beautiful La Jolla with their beautiful views and rocky beaches.

Crave the holiday city life of shopping and fine dining then choose a hotel in the heart of San Diego. You will find many shopping opportunities and a huge outdoor mall lit in beautiful lights with Christmas music playing all around you. After a day of shopping you can walk to many of the local restaurants or take in a show. Or perhaps listen to some good jazz in the gas lamp district.

Other attractions are close by anywhere you stay in San Diego. There is the world famous zoo and many museums in Balboa Park. They have Holidays on the Prado which has countries around the world showing how they celebrate Christmas. It’s a fun experience to go down to the gas lamp district. There is always something musically going on for any musical taste.

If you want to have a great experience with your children consider driving up about 45 minutes to Carlsbad to take in Legoland and the Aquarium. They are connected and for one ticket you can spend a day exploring the world of Lego. It is fun with rides and experiences for all ages. If you don’t want to drive you can always take the train up the coast easily.

A great experience as well is Old Town. It is decorated for the holidays with street of fair type markets. You can see the historic Old Town and see the roots of how San Diego started. Watch taffy being made and get a margarita as big as your head. There is something for everyone at Old Town.

Booking San Diego hotel rooms this holiday season can be a fun escape with your family or friends and a fun place to spend the holiday season. You will have a lot of fun stuff to do and never run out of great places to dine. Surf or shop the choice is yours.

Josh Krundle is an expert author, When you’re planning a trip and you need to find San Diego hotel rooms, it’s helpful to know exactly how to find San Diego hotel rates that give the deepest discounts compared to all of the other sites.

A premier holiday destination, Orlando, Florida, attracts close to 50 million people every year. Orlando resort continue to thrive and offer more and more attractions to tourists every year.

Orlando is the perfect place for a sunny weekend getaway. You will no doubt be having fun in the sun with temperatures averaging 72 degrees. Relax in family resorts, luxury resorts, town homes, vacation rental homes, and villas, most of which offer so many appealing amenities you will come back again and again.

You will never be bored in Orlando, with hundreds of things to choose from like golf courses, spas, fitness centers, hot tubs, pool side entertainment, volleyball, tennis courts, basketball courts, live entertainment, theme parks, fishing, canoeing, and much more.

Orlando offers some of the most picturesque scenery you will ever see. You will be surrounded by waterfalls, water slides, tropical landscaping, palm trees, exotic flowers, unique decor, and more. Resorts offer a host of services like dining options, transportation services, club-house facilities, golf instruction, and so much more.

Come to Orlando and marvel at its over 150 spectacular golf courses. It is home to one of the best golf courses in the world, one reason for its success.

Most Orlando resorts have highly professional conference rooms with high tech equipment, making Orlando perfect for you next business trip.

If you’re planning a family vacation in the Orlando area, you’ll have many hotel options to choose from. If you keep the following tips in mind, you’re sure to find the right hotel for your family.

Ask yourself what you are willing to spend. Whether you’re looking for budget accommodations or luxury at $1,000 or more per night, the maximum you set will help you narrow down the options.

Most Orlando hotels offer cable TV, air conditioning, and a 24-hour help desk as standard amenities. Hotels with a pool, jacuzzi, or high-speed internet access may charge a premium. You may also pay more if the accommodations include a fridge, stove, and microwave.

To at least some extent, the price you’ll pay for a hotel will depend on how close it is to major attractions. You can save money if you’re willing to be farther away, but remember to factor in the cost of parking at the hotel and when you get to your chosen attractions. Higher-priced hotels often have free shuttles to popular destinations.

Reviews from people who have stayed at a particular hotel can be a great source of information. We all know one or two people who’ve told us horror stories about a vacation ruined by bad service, hard beds, or an insect infestation at a hotel. User reviews on the internet offer a wide range of first-hand experiences at the same property. Though not a guarantee of a trouble-free stay, it’s a good idea to check them out. One of the sources I use is travelpost.com, and my website lists Orlando hotels that offer good value and get consistently good reviews.

Doing your homework before you choose a hotel will make it much more likely that you’ll be happy with your selection. Choose the right one, and you’re well on your way to a great vacation.

If you need to save some cash on your Orlando Hotel Rates then come to our agency where we stock hotel rooms at the guaranteed lowest prices!

A Las Vegas vacation calls to mind a variety of images. For some, it’s a non-stop party filled with drinks and casinos. For others, Las Vegas represents an enjoyable family getaway. Las Vegas’ tourism industry had its heyday in the late 60s and early 70s, thanks to a publicity campaign that marketed the city as an adult playground.

In those days, the city of Las Vegas was packed with a busy nightlife that included 24-hour bars, prominent stage performances and, of course, its infamous and ritzy casinos. In those days, visitors could start the night off with tickets to a great performance before spending the rest of the night gambling. In the wee hours of the morning, they might grab breakfast and a martini before finally hitting the sack for just a couple hours of shut-eye before starting all over.

In the beginning of the 90s, the trip to Las Vegas began to transform into an entirely different type of vacation. Its casinos started drawing in family vacationers in order to compete with kid-friendly attractions at New York New York and the family-oriented MGM Grand.

The casino management caught on to the possibility of attracting families, who had vacation money to spend, while continuing to serve their high rollers and devoted gambling clientele. That caused the rise of family-oriented entertainment, including restaurants, shows and other places focused on kids. Even many casinos started offering childcare services to parents, in order to allow them to continue gambling and drinking while their kids played.

Currently, a Las Vegas vacation is somewhere between a kid’s playground and one for adults. Vacationers will see roller coasters taking flight above the din of the casino’s slot machines and roulette wheels. Nowadays, fliers for escort services paper the sidewalks and topless show advertisements paint the sides of cabs, alongside promotions for Sponge Bob Square Pants, thanks to the legality of prostitution in Vegas.

The aura of the adult playground still permeates, despite the strip’s re-branding as a family vacation spot. The city flows with money and champagne, as it remains host to the greatest number of fine restaurants and dance clubs to be found in any place in the U.S.A.

We have the lowest Las Vegas Hotel Rates on the internet guaranteed, if you find a lower rate we will match it.

While some travel to Orlando to bask in Florida’s tropical weather, others find themselves returning to the city to enjoy its many various attractions. The dreamland that is Orlando is the destination for a considerable number of tourists who journey there to explore all Orlando has to offer.

Orlando has been drawing millions of visitors for years, because of its varied offerings. One can find water parks, theme parks, the world’s best dining, and assorted recreations and festivities in which to partake. The only limits to ones experience of Orlando is the budget that one is working within. While it might appear to be difficult to explore all of the beauties and attractions Orlando has to offer, there are ways to experience this dreamland both comfortably and cheaply.

A well organized itinerary is key to enjoying Orlando on a budget. An internet connection, map of the city, and your credit card can pave the way to an enjoyable, budget-friendly experience. The Orlando tourism website in conjunction with the Orlando board of tourism will provide you with a variety of available attractions, up-to-date maps, and make planning your trip infinitely more enjoyable.

When planning your trip, consider a full-access pass such as the Go Orlando Card Attraction Pass. One can receive admission to all the attractions within the state. Search the internet for other potential package deals.

Disney World’s official website also offers a variety of discounts to its many theme parks. Simply booking a room in any of the Disney hotels will make you eligible for discounted tickets to different parks.

Many fast food restaurants in the Orlando area offer coupons and discounted tickets to their patrons. Stop by White Castle, McDonald’s, or KFC (to name a few) to see what they have to offer.
